Traditional batik skirt patterns, made by RedGreen Rivers master batik artist, Ying Khang, in Xiengkhouang, Laos.
Batik is a resist dye technique using wax to illustrate motifs. The technique has been practiced for over two thousand years from South America to Africa; Indonesia is accredited with its origin. HMong Batik traditionally uses hemp as a base fabric. Batik surface designs are applied on clothing such as skirts and household items such as blankets. The art of batik and Indigo dyeing is practiced mainly by HMong Leeg (Green HMong).
Material: Natural wax on handmade mulberry paper. Keep out of direct sun and heat. Please indicate frame color either in black and white. Patterns will be randomly selected for your order.
