Peace x Pride Bracelet
Happy Happy Pride! We are so delighted to celebrate our Queer and Trans family and community with another design collaboration. The Peace x Pride bracelet, a remake of our bangle, embraces our generations and reclamation. Designed with Ka Oskar Ly and handwoven by artisan MaiYa Vue, we manifested this in the wee hours between our most recent travels in Laos together. These special bracelets are made with aluminum from recycled scrap metal of bombs dropped on Laos during the Secret War in Laos. Laos is the most bombed country of any war. Between 1964-1973, the US dropped more than 2 million tons of bomb on this small nation, the size of Texas. Because so much of the land is littered with this metal, non-governmental organizations work with local people to safely remove the unexploded ordinances.
NOTE: There are two sizes. The regular bracelet measures 7 cm and the small is 6.2 cm.
